Waterland Private Equity announces that it has acquired a stake in Ipsilon, one of the leading French and European IP firms

Waterland Private Equity, a pan-European investment fund with €9 billion under management, announces that it has acquired a stake in Ipsilon, a leading French and international IP consultancy firm.

Ipsilon offers a broad portfolio of services covering all areas of industrial and intellectual property, specializing in the filing, monitoring, maintenance and defense of its clients’ industrial property rights, including patents, trademarks, designs, domain names, and copyrights. In addition, Ipsilon assists its clients (large companies, SMEs, start-ups, public sector players, etc.) in the monitoring and implementation of their IP strategy.

Founded in 2001 by Valérie FERAY in Paris, Ipsilon now has over 100 employees in France and abroad. From the outset, the group has experienced rapid growth, both externally, through partnerships with prestigious players, and organically, through the implementation of an ambitious vertical diversification strategy. Today, it offers services covering the entire value chain of industrial property, including litigation: a real added value for its clients, who benefit from an integrated end-to-end service offering.

The company is present in France with five offices (Paris, Strasbourg, Toulouse, Nantes and Tours), but also in Benelux and Germany, and is currently the only French player in the sector to have an integrated team of experts in the United States.

“The acquisition by Waterland of a shareholding in Ipsilon is a great opportunity for the Ipsilon Group to continue its development and become one of the leading European IP firms, while continuing to offer high quality services to its clients and providing them with even more services”, says Valérie FERAY, President of Ipsilon.

“I am delighted with this partnership and with the trust that Valérie FERAY has granted us to support Ipsilon in its development. Our European experience will allow Ipsilon to strengthen its leadership and international presence”, added Louis HUETZ, President of Waterland Private Equity in France.

“We are delighted to start this ambitious partnership with Valérie FERAY and the Ipsilon team. We are convinced that our expertise in consulting and regulated activities will enable Ipsilon to accelerate its growth and strengthen the support of its clients throughout their value chain”, explains Pierre NAFTALSKI, Investment Director at Waterland Private Equity.
