25 Mar 50% discount in filing fees for trademark, design and patent applications: EUIPO supports access to IP for SMEs!

Since January 2021, national IP offices of the EU such as INPI (INPI website), as well as the BOIP, have been participating in the deployment of the European grant fund launched by the EUIPO in favor of the intellectual property rights of SMEs.

As part of the European Commission’s Intellectual Property Action Plan, this 20 million euro fund is aimed at small and medium-sized enterprises in the 27 EU member states, and will be fully distributed in 2021.

Each SME can apply for a 50% discount on trademark, design and patent application fees and/or a 75% discount on IP pre-diagnostic services provided by one of the IP offices on the attached list (list).

There are five application windows throughout the year, and the total amount reimbursed can be up to €1,500 per applicant.

Grants will be awarded on a first come, first served basis, so do not hesitate to file a claim directly with your national IP office, the BOIP or the EUIPO… or have a trademark and design attorney to offer his or her assistance and do it on your behalf.
